Skiing FAQs

How far in advance should I book?

As early as you can. In the winter we get very busy at Gloucester Ski & Snowboard Centre. You may have to book several weeks in advance. Private lessons sell like hotcakes! Why not learn before Christmas and beat the rush!

What ages can children start skiing from?

Skiing lessons start from ages 3+ for private lessons and ages 4+ for group sessions.

I haven't skied for years, what's my best option?

A private lesson will be the best option for you as the instructor can tailor the lesson to your ability and figure out what you need next. We also offer coaching sessions which work on ski technique for those at a recreational level and want to improve further.

What should I wear?

Participants are required to wear long-sleeved clothing to cover their skin and gloves. Ski socks or long, thin socks are also preferable. Gloves can be purchased from reception for £3 on the day if needed.

What if it's raining?

All lessons and recreational sessions will continue to go ahead in the rain. The rain adds additional lubricant to the slope. Last minute cancellations due to rain will not be eligible for rebooking or refunds.

What equipment is provided?

We provide skis, boots, poles and helmets. Gloves are not provided but can be purchased from reception for £3.

What is the cancellation policy?

Lessons and sessions that are cancelled with more than 48 hours notice will receive a full refund or rebooking.

Lessons and sessions with less than 48 hours notice are not eligible for a refund.
