Prepare for your First Lesson

IMG_9190.jpg

Your first time undertaking a new skill or hobby can be very daunting. You overthink about absolutely everything that could go wrong, as well as thinking you're underprepared.

Let us help ease your nerves for your first ever ski or snowboard lesson.

First things first, make sure you have all of the right equipment for the lesson. For example, at Gloucester, we require participants to bring: gloves, long-sleeves, trousers and long socks. Whichever centre you choose to go to, make sure you're following their criteria. (We suggest Gloucester Ski & Snowboard Centre)

Secondly, plan to arrive 20 minutes early. Why? Putting ski boots and snowboard boots on for the first time will feel very alien. You'll need to learn to walk in them and get used to them. In arriving early, you allow yourself time to check in as well as get yourself kitted up with your skis, boots and helmet (safety first!).

Thirdly, just relax! Everybody starts at the beginning. Your instructor will guide you through every step of the lesson and if you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask.
