Racing

About

The centre hosts two highly successful ski racing clubs.
Both Clubs have racers of all ages who compete all over the country on dry slopes and on snow. The clubs have a long history of producing ski racing champions and members of British teams and they cater for all standards of racers.

Club Training

Gloucester Ski Club trains on Thursday and Sunday evenings, when the race slope is dedicated solely for race training. There are also training camps around the Easter, May, summer and October school holidays.

Western Counties Ski Club meet regularly on Monday evenings, where members get great coaching for Slalom and Giant Slalom racing. Western Counties hold Spring and Summer race training camps and provide snow training with two of their resident coaches and the Unique Academy. The club also arrange an annual snow holiday for members for all ages and ability levels.

Both clubs race in the annual Gloucester based regional Summer Race League events, with many of our skiers going on to race in National and International competitions on artificial slopes and snowdomes, progressing to race on snow and represent their Home Nations and Great Britain.

Gloucester Ski Club doesn’t run any snow training or instructor training, but they use partners to feed skiers into their programmes. Snow training is primarily based around Dragons Alpine or one of the many Ski Race Academies programmes based in the Alps.

Membership is open to all, with both clubs enjoying a fun family atmosphere.  The emphasis is on everyone being able to ski and race at their own level, but most importantly of all, to enjoy it.
